Chassis antivibration systems
Our clients are predominantly concerned with comfort and safety. Indeed, road holding is an essential safety criterion to prevent loss of control in bends or on certain roads in a bad state of repair.
The vibrations of the different vehicle components combined with those caused by the road require high performance antivibration solutions. Our long experience in this field allows us to provide product / process innovation for these historical applications.
An elastic bushing is made of an elastomer filtering element that is pre-compressed between two cylindrical reinforcements. This design avoids regular greasing thereby simplifying maintenance operations. SOCAT proposes these solutions for many applications such as cars and Trucks, below are a few examples:

The primary bogie suspension connects the rolling components and the bogie chassis Inter-body elastic ball and socket > bushing and decoupling of the bodies at the intermediate modules

The blade shock absorber, also known as a sandwich shock absorber, is composed of one or more layers of elastomer between parallel metal reinforcements. These supports are developed to support heavy compression loads. Their mechanical properties are variable and are essentially adjusted by the hardness of the elastomer and the number of metal inserts.
The propshaft can be composed of one, two or three sections with various intermediate bearing block options, sliders, shock absorbers and vibration dampers.
SOCAT develops and validates its centerbearings, to correctly hold the shaft and provide high levels of acoustic and vibratory performances. Production of the complete assembled system with the bearing built in.
Stabilizer bar bushings
On a car the stabilizer bar is a part of the chassis that stabilizes the vehicle from irregularities in the road.

SOCAT develops stabilizer bar bushings for its manufacturer and equipment manufacturer clients, their requirements are expressed in radial and torsional rigidity specific to the bar diameter, and ever more extreme endurance and noise levels. SOCAT has the capacity to develop, assemble and internally validate its bar anti-vibration solutions, thereby offering its clients interesting reactivity. We propose several technologies, follower bushings, Grippy bushings, glued bushings (PV Bonding) giving a stable and reliable anti-vibration performance over the vehicle’s service life.
Roller (wear part)
System located at the front of the vehicle on each axle used to guide it, working in an extreme environment: frost, salt, various pollution, temperature, etc.
- Specific polyurethane material under high stress when tipping and under a permanent load
- Material with a shock absorbing function to prevent vibrations from reaching the cabin
- Excellent resistance to abrasion (in permanent contact with a metal rail)
Ball and socket
The ball and socket, also known as Axibloc, is used on Trucks and in the rail sector to provide rigidity between the (bogie / body) or the (axle / cabin) and to filter out vibrations. These ball and sockets use two technologies:
A: Version fitted loose in a connecting rod boring: The expansion of the elastomer due to a given force is used for the following example of use: Spheric elastic articulation used to absorb vertical, transverse and angular vibrations.
B: Version fitted and banded in a boring, Application for extreme conditions, natural base elastomer under Radial, Axial, Torsion, Conical stress in an aggressive environment: humidity, pollution, temperature, etc.

Stopper / Spring support / Cup / load bearing element
We develop all types of stoppers (brakes, front or rear axles and other) The purpose of an elastomer stopper is to absorb the shock of the travel in a brutal impact.
Car suspension has an essential role in vehicle road holding. It must be capable of effectively filtering in unevenness of the road for the comfort of the occupants of the vehicle. To limit road defect impacts, SOCAT proposes anti-vibration solutions such as spring mount, cups, and others. These parts can be bi-component and act as shock absorbers limiting the wear of suspension elements (shock absorber, arm, bar, etc.).
